Local Events: There are some major events coming up on and off road, not to be missed: Wantage Sportive. Sunday 5th July A classic in the calendar, This Sportive starts near Wantage and makes it way to Swindon and back over the best of the local roads. Book now or you may be disappointed, this is a great chance for experts and beginner alike to do a sportive without driving miles to get there. The Southern Sportive crew are one of the longest established cycle events organizers in the country, and without doubt put on the best organized events going. Bonus, come and see us as we are on one of the check points. Bring your results slip into Red Planet during July for a free tube and water bottle Southern Trail Ride. Sat. 4th July Starting at Letcomb Regis, a few miles east of swindon, fun off road routes from 12 to 62 miles. Local off road riding at its best from the TrailBreak crew. In addition long route riders get to stop of at the Red Planet Bikes Check point and free BBQ. Southern 100 enduro.Sat. 4th July The hardcore version of the above for more experienced riders, fast growing into a classic of the off road calendar. More Red Planets? Red Planet Bikes off road team are supposed to be having a rest this season. That did not stop Celia Geyer and Sally Lee winning the Ladies Pairs at Bristol bike fest after a closely fought battle with last years winners Team Sludge. Fast and furious town center racing its hard to beat for excitement and you get to see our guys , including Swindon star Grant Bayton. Tuesday night mountain bike rides. Put them in your diary. All of them. That was easy wasn't it? Now all you have to do is pitch up at your favorite bike shop between 6pm and 6.30pm every Tuesday night with your dancing shoes on and we're off for a ride! Well, cycling shoes would be better, but you know what I mean. We're usually out for a couple of hours, it's a friendly pace. Come on, don't be shy, see you on Tuesdays.
